What are some Celtic wedding Traditions?
We are planning a celtic wedding and I have no idea on how to decorate the place or how we should set up the reception.
Claddaughs are the most beautiful celtic symbol, standing for Love, Loyalty, and Friendship, all three things that make a wonderful marriage. We put Claddaughs everywhere, and explained their symbolism to our guests.
The use of various celtic knots would be a great way to decorate. The Trinity knot is a popular wedding knot.
Handfasting is traditional. You could say your vows over handfasting.
Decorate with Candles and mood lighting. Put Claddaughs on your cake (I designed my own claddaugh cake because I didn’t the designs I saw. It came out BEAUTIFULLY!). Get a harpist to play Celtic music at your reception, it will REALLY set the mood. And the harp automatically becomes a handy part of the decoration.
There are so many fun things to do. Look up Celtic weddings online. It really depends on if you want to do Irish Celtic or Scottish Celtic on what you would do with it.
