Diamond Pave
For decades, diamond engagement rings were simply one diamond placed in a setting. As styles changed and fashion rings became more popular, the solitaire competed in popularity right along side with multi stone set in bands and pave. Suddenly, pave diamond engagement rings have established a leading spot when it comes to choosing engagement rings.
Pave, done correctly, is beautiful. It resembles crushed diamonds inlaid into an area of the ring band. As anyone who has ever purchased a diamond knows, tiny diamonds are cheaper than larger ones, when the same quality is compared. Specks of diamonds are even cheaper – but frequently more striking.
When a pave style is used in silver or platinum, it can have the visual effect of presenting a larger solitaire stone. From a distance it can appear to be perhaps a multi carat ring, when in reality it is simply a well designed pave setting.
The pave can be inset into a particular area, or it can be set into the entire band. All sorts of designs can be created with pave from small circles that are made specifically to resemble a solitaire diamond, to large intricate patterns perhaps in the shape of initials, hearts, misc. Shapes.
Because diamonds come in different colors, pave rings can come in different colors as well. One advantage to custom designing a pave engagement ring is that these various shadings and colors can be used to create some gorgeous designs. Pinks, yellows and even golds and blues can turn an otherwise boring design into an eye catching fashion statement.
A pave ring can be very affordable since these tiny dust-like particles are much less expensive than their larger cousins. The equivalent of a three carat ring in a pave setting can be found in most jewelry stores for under $1,000, and frequently under $600.
