Diamond earrings are a classic finishing touch to any outfit. However, since a pair of hoops with diamonds are appropriate for many different age groups, consider the size and style before buying some. For example, a younger wearers will want to opt for a smaller sized hoop and small diamonds so they are not overpowered by the accessory. Teens and young adults will likely choose a medium sized hoop and sometimes choose to wear a smaller hoop on the ear and a hoop on the earlobe. Adults are likely to choose the medium to larger sized hoop.
The thickness of the metal (gold, platinum or silver) will vary by style. Since they are worn in the ears, a lighter metal type like 14k gold is the popular choice. When considering these for a gift idea, consider the age of the receiver and the design they would like best.
The placement of the diamonds will vary. Some diamond hoops have diamonds set all the way around the hoop, and some have diamonds set in the front only. Modern hoop earrings designs include diamonds on the internal and external surfaces of the hoop. This style is particularly nice because you can see the diamonds sparkling from many angles.
Decide which of the setting types you prefer. The choices include: channel set and prong set. Also, choose between single row diamond hoop earrings, double row diamond hoop earrings or glamorous triple row diamond hoop earrings.

How much would a nice gold chain and a pair of gold/diamond earrings pawn for?
The earrings are small gold hoops with diamonds in them and the chain is a standard gold rope chain. I want to pawn them but only if I can get decent money.
I would definitely would not sell it to pawn shop. You will not get your money worth. If you really want to sell them, you can either try the ad in the newspaper or ebay online or go to ebay store. One time I took my jewelries down to the pawn shop and I felt like I have been punched in the stomach for what they were willing to pay. I also became a goldsmith few years after that happened. They do only give you what is worth of how much gold is today and then they weigh it and then give you certain percentage of it like 75% of what it should be worth. The pawn shop either sell it to wholesale precious metals or goldsmith for a little more money than they gave you but the wholesale precious metals company will give them what today worth and then take 25% out of it as well. It is kind of going in circle.
