How to change out a laundry dryer power cord?
I have a dryer I need to change to a four prong power cord. I know to put the white in the middle, and the red or black on either side. The problem I have is the ground wire, the green one, currently runs from the nut on the door into the dryer. Do I keep this current green wire? Its not a part of the current power cord? Can I overlap the green wire to the new power cord over this one?
If you haven’t figured it out already, That green wire needs to be removed from the middle of the terminal block and attached to the green wire from the “pig-tail”. And no, do NOT overlap them. It HAS to be removed from the neutral of the system.
