Full Crinoline
You may have heard of the popular Red Hat Society before, but what exactly do Red Hat Society members do? What is the purpose of the organization? We aim to answer these questions.
The Red Hat Society’s main purpose is to serve as a network to one another. This social interaction is meant to encourage women to have friendships and fulfilment in their lives. The main goal for members of RHS is to journey through life together with freedom and fun. Don’t mistake the Red Hat Society for a sorority. The RHS is unlike a sorority, which normally includes initiations. They also aren’t considered a voluntary service club, but rather an organization for women.
The founder of a local chapter of RHS is known as a “Queen”. Members of the chapter are referred to as “Red Hatters”. Members over the age of 50 wear red hats and purple attire to all Red Hat functions. They also invite women under the age of 50 to join the organization. She is known as a “Pink Hatter”, and must wear a pink hat and lavender attire to all functions. When she turns 50 she has a “Reduation” and can graduate to a red hat with the rest of the members 50 and older.
RHS members often get together for various activities. Both Red and Pink Hatters wear very eloquent hats and fun fashion accessories to their Society’s events. A popular accessory is the feather boa or pearls. The events that they host vary. The most popular event is attending or hosting a tea party. They also host large regional events to include more than one chapter or group.
The headquarters, or “Hatquarters” host the largest of the regional events a few times a year. Members of RHS are required pay membership fees annually to be involved in the Society. For more history about how the RHS was founded, please refer to our previous article.

How big of a crinoline should I get?
I want my dress to be nice and full, but I don’t want it to have a ballgown type look. When I look at the crinolines for A-line dresses, they seem to not be very full, but I’m concerned that “extra full” slips might be too much. I haven’t seen one in person, only pictures online, so are the pictures deceiving and the A-line crinoline would be enough poofyness?

I’m buying my dress online, so I can’t go try it on in a store. :/
Edit, I have tried it on in person before ordering it online
The slips that I have seen come in three sizes. I would go with the middle fullness in order to achieve the look in the picture. Doesn’t the store have some in stock that you could try with your dress?
