Coach backpack handbags are classic bags that have both style and practical function all in one. Whether you are looking for brand new backpack handbags or vintage, you can find literally thousands of them listed at online auctions such as eBay. But how do you know that what you are bidding on is the real thing, and not a clever fake?
First, it is helpful to know good Coach styling. The backpack handbags are real leather, with contrasting stitching and either the water and stain resistant jacquard signature pattern on the inside, or the stitched leather Coach label with the serial number. They are adjustable and can be carried in your hands as well as on your back. They will generally have lots of compartments or pockets inside and have either a leather or corded strap.
But, these details can be faked. More than the look of the bag, you need to know how to spot an authentic Coach backpack handbag seller from a ripoff artist.
First, understand that Coach does not do wholesale sales. Ever. To anyone. If you see a Coach wholesale list, or anyone claiming anything to do with Coach and wholesale, run! These are fakes. Anyone who is claiming to be running a Coach closeout sale or wholesale sale is not selling real Coach bags.
Now, eBay is actually a very good place for Coach bags. Yes, there are bound to be a few fakes on there, but for the most part there are controls in place to keep this sort of thing to a minimum. One of the best tools you can use is the feedback. Feedback ratings for a seller are given by the people who have bought from them, and reflect not only the experience they had with the seller but also the quality of the items they are selling.
When you find a seller with Coach backpack handbags, check first the number beside their member name. This is how many people have left them feedback. Look for at least a 300. Then, you’ll see a percentage…this refers to how much of that feedback was positive. You want that percentage to be at least in the high 90′s, and preferably well over 95%. Why? if they were selling fakes, then their feedback ratings would not have gotten that high.
Also, look at what else they are selling. If they are selling all sorts of things as well as a Coach backpack handbag or two, then the feedback rating isn’t going to give you as much information since it will refer to their other items as well. If, however, they are selling mainly Coach items, or mainly designer handbags, then the feedback is your best tool to determine how genuine they are. It is safer, usually, to stick with sellers who deal mainly in Coach items or in designer handbags.
