Depending on the width of the dress you can do anything from a normal half slip or full length slip to a one-wire. If your dress has a smaller width a half slip or full length slip should be all that you need. However if you have a little bit of a wider A-line and you want to give it a little support you could try a long petticoat – which is a slip with ruffles on it to give a little fullness or you could even use a small hoop – a one wire which is made to go under wider A-lines.
