Link Chain
Chain link fencing. Also known as cyclone fence, chain wire or wire netting, it is a woven material made from galvanised steel wire. The pattern of theboundary is diagonal because the wires run vertically and are bent to form a zig zag pattern.
The history of this type of structure originates from the UK, a firm called Barnard, Bishop and Barnard produced a fence on a machine in the 1840′s. The machine that they actually produced the fencing was a weaving type machine used in the cloth industry.
The chain link fencing comes in different sizes depending in which country you live in, but for example in the USA the fencing will typically come in 50 ft rolls. There is a good range of sizes ranging from 3 ft up to 12 ft, although it is possible to have fences made at a higher height. The chain link fences also have different types of gauges, or thicknesses, and the most common ones would be 9.11 and 11.5,
These type of fences are very popular because of there ease of installation and there low cost. You will see chain link at industrial buildings, tennis courts, play grounds, and much more.
If you are installing a chain link fence you will need to set posts in the ground first to attach the fence too. The posts you need will depend on the setting, but typically they will be either wooden, concrete, or steel, and should be set in concrete. The posts should not be more than 10 feet apart, but this obviously depends on where you’re building the fence, and how big the fence needs to be. Once the posts are erected, the fencing is attached at one end and stretched the length of the fence. Any excess fencing can easily be removed by unscrewing a wire.

How to fill in holes under chain link fence?
I have 2 labs and they’ve dug 2 escape holes under my chain link fence. Filling them in with dirt would be pointless as they’d just dig that out. Any suggestions on how I might permanently fill them would be greatly appreciated. Has to be fairly simple as I’m an old single broad…lol. Thank you!
When some people install a fence, they add what is called a mow strip, typically a 2 foot wide by 4-6 inch deep strip of concrete. You should take this idea, but just get a bag of quickcrete and mix it with some water until it is soupy and pour it into the holes left by your dogs. If you leave 2-3 inches below the soil level, you can cover the concrete with dirt after it cures (1-2 days) and regrow grass if you want.
