Is this a decent Marquise / Navette diamond engagement ring? What would you value it at?
Just been to see this ring for the second time & noticed there’s a definite blackness down it’s centre. Am a bit worried. It was originally marked at £6750 (british pounds) but the jeweler has offered it to me for £3500. It’s in a very fine platinum setting & the stone is placed sideways ie. across the finger instead of pointing towards the fingernail.
Am I being offered a dodgy stone?!

that seems very expensive for the size and clarity of the stone, even after the markdown..I would look into it more…because if the jeweler is willing to cut the price in half, there is obviously a need to get rid of it..and if you see a dark spot, not matter what the clarity is, it probably isnt good to get, because if you noticed it now and buy it, you will be looking at your ring everyday thinking “grr there is that black spot” and to pay over 3,500 for something you are not going to be 100% satisfied with doesn’t seem right to do.
