What is best for a man’s wedding ring – white gold, gold, or platinum?
I had a ring custom made by a husband of a good friend, and I asked for platinum. I got the rings todtay, and compared to my engagement ring, they look much more yellow, so I’m afraid they’re not platinum! I am so embarassed because I made a big deal about asking him to do this for me, and I don’t know if he did it wrong — I’m too afraid to call and ask.
So I thought maybe I’d ask the opinion of others before I call — what do YOU think is best (i.e. if it turns out its not platinum … which it probably isn’t cause he charged me $600 … should I just keep it and give it to him anyway? It won’t match my rings then, but maybe its better for a guy NOT to have platinum?)
platinum would probably be the best.
they last long and do not corrode. also, platinum is considered as a precious metal… and is more rare than gold or white gold…. that’s why you pay a higher price for it.
if you’re suspecting the band isn’t platinum… which from the sounds of it seems like the guy totally jipped you… then like what everyone else said.. you should get it checked out by jewellers who actually knows more about bands and what kind of wedding band is best suited for your husband.
as for the matching part… i guess it would probably mean a lot more if they were matching. but then again.. these days people like to be different…… and many couples have bands that don’t match. it’s really up to you to decide and see what feels best for you and what you really want to see on your husband’s hand!
