One look at Katherine’s beautiful pear cut diamond engagement ring and you know she is a lucky lady. The 29 year old “Grey’s Anatomy” beauty received the ring from singer/song writer Josh Kelley, who is two years her junior. The two met on the set of his music video “Only You,” in 2005 which Katherine appeared in. How hot is that? Beats meeting your man at a pub.
The pear stunner weighs in at about 3 carats and is ensconced with pave diamonds around the cut and flows into an eternity-pave platinum band. The ring was designed by jeweler Ryan Ryan. The ring has sentimental value as half of the band comes from Katherine’s mother’s ring.
The attractive pair were married on a late Sunday afternoon ceremony at the Stein Eriksen Lodge in Deer Valley, Utah. A large tent was setup outside the lodge for the 100 plus guests who witnessed their union. The tent was extraordinary in and of itself with colored lighting, brass chandeliers, silver chairs, white pillow and drapes, and lots of heating. The affair was an intimate black-tie gig with special touches such as the couple exchanging vows they wrote themselves.
The stunning Ms. Heigl wore an Oscar De La Renta gown and a long ruffle train and silk hat and veil combo. Although you know she would have looked just as awesome wearing a David’s Bridal number. does anyone know if it makes a difference between white gold and platinum when it comes to pave settings?
I’ve heard two different stories from two different jewelers. My engagement ring is white gold and white gold wedding rings are right in my budget. Am I more prone to loose a stone from pave setting white gold vs. platinum?
Anything that has Platinum is better, regardless of what it holds. It is much harder to find and get and it lasts much longer. It also costs a lot more…I’ve already mentioned to my daughter that is what she should have for her wedding ring…Great Taste…
