Asscher cut in a princess setting?
My fiancé and I choose an immitation diamond for my engagement ring. Its a 1.5 carat princess cut stone in a 4 prong setting, The stone got scratched so we need to replace it. I was wondering how hard it would replace the princess cut with an asscher cut stone. Would it be hard/expensive to have the jeweler rework the setting for an asscher cut?
As long as both diamonds have the same millimeter measurements then it should be fine since both stones are square. The measurements should not be more than 2-3 tenths of a millimeter off or the ring will need a new mounting.
