Red Leather

My girlfriend wants to know if it is ok to wear red leather pumps with a silver silk dress?
We both think she looks good with the red shoes. In my opinion it is bold yet fashionable. Is it a complete no go or is it too bold for a winter wedding this Saturday Dec 9?

B.R.M.C. $5.99 It would be easy to dismiss B.R.M.C. as another bunch of Britpop wannabes. Their amalgam of fuzzed-out vocals and chugging guitars over layers of droning feedback immediately brings to mind the Jesus and Mary Chain and Primal Scream. But the band’s wanton attitude easily compensates for its lack of originality. Plucking its name from the Marlon Brando classic The Wild One and digging deep into its… |

A Nod to Bob: An Artists’ Tribute to Bob Dylan on His Sixtieth Birthday $11.83 In honor of Bob Dylan’s 60th birthday–May 24, 2001–the singer-songwriters and roots musicians of Red House Records offer yet another homage to the master. The tracks here range from the memorable and sometimes profound to forgettable and pleasant. With the exception of Eliza Gilkyson, whose gossamer version of “Love Minus Zero/No Limit” opens the collection, the finest interpreters are the… |

Eddie Murphy – Delirious $3.98 Light years before political correctness–1983 to be exact–or his comeback in tame Disney comedies, Eddie Murphy was a charismatic, wonderfully offensive, egocentric 22-year-old black comedian known for crude celebrity impersonations and often shockingly frank diatribes on racial and sexual politics. Dressed in a skin-tight red leather suit and delivering endless streams of obscenities faster tha… |

Dances with Wolves – Extended Cut (Two-Disc Collector’s Edition) $13.88 Kevin Costner’s 1990 epic won a bundle of Oscars for a moving, engrossing story of a white soldier (Costner) who singlehandedly mans a post in the 1870 Dakotas, and becomes a part of the Lakota Sioux community who live nearby. The film may not be a masterpiece, but it is far more than the sum of good intentions. The characters are strong, the development of relationships is both ambitious and… |

Leatherheads (Widescreen) $0.99 Leatherheads is a sort of two-fisted homage, simultaneously celebrating the early, unstructured days of professional football and the screwball comedies of the 1930s and 40s. George Clooney stars as “Dodge” Connelly of the Duluth Bulldogs, a wily (if a bit long in the tooth) player whose team goes bankrupt. His solution is to lure a war hero and star of the college-football circuit, Carter “The Bu… |
