Cleopatra is one of the most fascinating figures in ancient history. Cleopatra has also long been considered to be a sex symbol – and has held this title for thousands of years. Maybe because of her distinctive clothing and facial style, but her image remains in our memory centuries after her death – but she also makes an ideal costume choice for any Halloween or Costume Party.
Just what do you need to wear to have a Cleopatra look for Halloween? Let me describe what I would do if I decided to go as Cleopatra this Halloween. First, her hair style is one of the most distinctive features of her as I recall. So to have a proper Cleopatra look, I need to wear a straight black wig that reaches to my shoulders with a thick wedge of bangs and decorated with gold-colored beads throughout.
Next, my iconic Cleopatra Costume would begin with a plain long, straight white dress that falls all the way to the floor, with no sleeves and also with a v-neck. And since Cleopatra was famously known for wearing many colorful large jeweled pieces I will put on a large necklace with a big shaped, colorful jewel as its centerpiece.
To add even more drama as part of my costume I will also plan to wear several gold arm bands – maybe a winding snake shaped arm band around my wrist or a large gold band around my upper arms – this will add a deadly look and a hint of authenticity. I also plan to add a wide belt of some sort to my Cleopatra costume, maybe a jeweled one if I can find one, around my waist for a more glamourous look. And since Cleopatra’s signature look also consisted of dramatic, heavy make-up I plan to use a lot a bright eye makeup in the same classic and dramatic style as she wore centuries ago.
Lastly, to give a finishing touch to my overall look and to make it complete I plan to put on my unique gold colored artificial leather sandals with straps that wrap around my lower legs almost up to my knees. Now all of this together will make my Cleopatra Halloween Costume the show stopping, eye catcher costume of the evening. And I expect that everyone on Halloween night will ask me about my costume too. They will be truly amazed when I tell them that my costume was designed by myself for this one particular party. And I hope to win the best dressed individual of the night too. And just how could I go wrong in my one of a kind Cleopatra costume. Maybe you might want to join me?
