what kind of snake thats silver with black and white striped snake in souther missouri and is it poisonous?
to me it looked like a rattlesnake type and cant find picture on net to be positive about it
None of the venomous snakes found in Missouri match that desription. It’s probably a rat snake or garter snake.
And just to add, there are no massasaugas in southern Missouri. There is a small isolated population in the northern part of the state, but they are not common and you would have to really look to find them. And dusky pygmy rattlers aren’t found there either. Western pygmys are, but they don’t match that description.
