What’s the difference between single solid yellow line and double solid yellow line on the main road?
I think both means no passing, so why double yellow solid line exits? It wastes painting oil and man power time to paint, waste time and money, pointless.
It’s amazing how many people don’t know the actual reason behind single and double lines in the center of a highway. In some areas, there may be sections of roadway where it is a safe passing zone in one direction, but not if you are travelling in the other. Single yellow lines are used where there are long stretches of roadway where it is not safe to pass in either direction. Double yellow lines are used when there is passing allowed on one or both directions, and these zones change frequently because of hills, curves, etc. The only time when passing is legal is when there is a single
dashed line down the center, or when the line is dashed on your side of the double line.
