how to treat infected ear lobe piercing and heal it as quick as possible?
both lobes are pussing yellow gunk, the left is alot worse than the right. I don’t want to take my studs out so it heals over
i’ve had them pierced for 10 weeks, recently i stopped cleaning them as often, bad mistake. I’ve had silver in since the beginning. They don’t hurt or itch; just puss.
You should have received some cleaner to use on your ears while healing (from the piercer).
Since it seems you were not given this cleaning solution- you should dissolve sea salt in some warm water and use that to clean the area.
Also- be sure that the earrings aren’t what is irritating your ears. I am allergic to nickel- and if I wear cheap earrings- my ears will become very sore and infected to the point that it looks like they are rotting- yuck! I learned a long time ago to only wear “real” gold or silver earrings.

Things You’ll Need:
* Sea salt
* Cotton swabs or cotton balls
* Hot water
Step1
Determine the difference between the normal healing process of an ear piercing and an infection. The normal healing process may include redness, swelling, crustiness or even pus around the piercing. With an infection, however, the redness and irritation may be accompanied by persistent pain and yellow or green pus, and the area will be warm to the touch.
Step2
Examine your aftercare procedure and determine if you are following instructions accurately. An infection is often caused by improper cleaning procedures, or by using oils or moisturizers that may increase bacteria near the piercing site. Remember to always wash your hands before cleaning your ear piercing as well.
Step3
Handle an infected ear piercing by dissolving 1/8 tsp. pure sea salt into a cup of hot distilled water. Avoid any type of iodized salt, which can make the infection much worse.
Step4
Dip a cotton ball or swab into the solution, and apply it to the infected ear piercing using steady pressure. Ensure that the cotton ball or swab is sterile. Leave it on your ear until the hot water has cooled.
Step5
Repeat this process once a day until the infection has gone away completely. Do not repeat this more than once a day, and do not increase the amount of pure sea salt used.
Step6
Check the infected ear piercing at least once per day to see if pus or liquid is draining from the area. Although this may appear unsightly at times, it is part of the normal healing process.
Step7
Visit a doctor immediately if the infection does not lessen in 3 to 4 days. Infections in your ear can become quite severe if you do not handle them correctly, especially due to the proximity of the ears to the brain.
